Born in Barranquilla, Colombia on July 10, 1972, Sofia Vergara is a a widely known Columbian actress and model. Best known for co-hosting two Univision shows in the late 1990s, Sofia parlayed that fame into a North American acting career, appearing in Meet the Browns and Madea Goes to Jail, before landing the part of Gloria on the ABC series Modern Family. On Modern Family she has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.
