Born in San Diego, California, on August 30, 1972, Cameron Diaz started modeling at age 16. She worked around the world as a model until she was 21, when she won the co-starring role in the The Mask opposite Jim Carrey. She had no previous acting experience at the time, but when the film was released it was very successful and Diaz was nominated for several acting awards. Since that time she has appeared in several dozen films, including the Charlie’s Angels movies, Shrek, Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, There’s Something About Mary, Knight and Day, the Green Hornet, and Bad Teacher.
