He still holds the collegiate record for most yards by a freshman in NCAA history, when he ran for 1925 yards in 2004. He was the #7 pick in the draft by the Minnesota Vikings, and in his rookie season he set a record for most yards in a game when he ran for 296 yards against the Philip Rivers-led San Diego Chargers. Since that time, Peterson has been the starting running back for the NFC in the Pro Bowl, and amassed yards and touchdowns unlike any other running back in the NFL.
